With Asia Pacific home to approximately 60% of the global population, growing demand for pharmaceuticals from this large and ageing population, coupled with supportive government policies, a steady flow of M&A activity and the expansion of R&D capacity, are fueling occupier demand for life sciences real estate in the region.
The life sciences industry’s role at the forefront of combatting the COVID-19 pandemic has also generated substantial requirements for real estate to test, produce and store vaccines, medicines and related products, adding to already significant demand.
As these significant macro trends converge, CBRE is tracking an increasing interest from investors eyeing this exciting and dynamic asset class.
